My practice as a visual artist is focused on creating symbolic bridges between individuals and / or communities; that have different cultures and geographic spaces. My work has transversal axes as: marginality, exclusion and invisibility. These are related to deep issues such as: migration, racism and particularly the historical memory associated with the internal armed conflict in Peru (1980 - 2000), which I have been developing for two years, creating a Memory Space with a specific community.

Formally, my work is in macro or micro scale; and for specific sites. My practice can be individual as well as collective. I believe in co-creation processes, as an individual, I am part of the collective artist group FIBRA and as part of the community, we made a Memory Space with the people of Hualla in Ayacucho, Peru; and with nature, a bio materials project.

Temporal refugee camp. Berlin, Germany
2015

I hope something changes ) is an intervention that was realized in a temporary refugee camp in front of Landesamt für Gesundheit und Soziales - LaGeSo- (State Office for Health and Social Affairs) in Berlin where they applied for asylum.
This was the first place that the refugees could sleep in Berlin, only for one night, after almost 50 days traveling.
As a gesture to say welcome and good luck, I made a 1000 origami cranes and I put one on each of their pillows.
The japanese legend says that if you make a 1000 origami cranes your biggest wish will come true. This legend was disseminated when a girl, Sadako Sasaki, got sick from the radiation of the Hiroshima nuclear bomb. She decided to make 1000 origami cranes in order to recover her health,
but she only could do 644 because she passed away. Their friends decided to finish the 1000 cranes in her honor but also for a world without wars.
